Target’s “Beautiful” Cups, Bowls & Plates Are Less Than $1 | Apartment Therapy
Though I would never dream of ditching my ceramic dishware, Target’s newest plastic dinnerware collection is doing a really good job trying to convince me to. Part of the latest Room Essentials drop, the plastic dinnerware collection features plates, bowls, and cups with colors that one Instagram commenter says are “on point.”
“The popular Room Essentials $.50 dinnerware is a Target favorite,” the creator behind the Target Junkie Instagram account wrote in a recent caption posted on Sunday, April 7. “New ribbed tumblers were just added with this collection! I think the ivory color is new too but I’m not quite sure.”

“Such nice colors,” another commenter added. Someone else wrote, “I love this type of tableware, especially with little ones.” The collection colors were perfectly timed to this time of year, too. One commenter noted that they “love these colors,” and it’s hard to disagree. With blues, grays, corals, and ivory tones, it’ll look like your kitchen bloomed right alongside your plants. And yes, all of these pieces are $.50 and under. In fact, the 10.5-inch plastic dinner plate from the Room Essentials collection is on sale for just $.42 right now. The Jet Gray and Black are out of stock online, but you can pick plates up in Mint and Coral Pink for shipping.
Or, if you love the new cream color, grab a few snack bowls to add to your collection. Each bowl holds up to seven fluid ounces and the Ivory shade makes it look just like porcelain. They’re microwave-safe (only for reheating) and dishwasher-safe, too.
Take advantage of the new ribbed cups while you’re shopping, too. These cups are suitable for both hot and cold beverages, and are made with BPA-free plastic that can be tossed in the dishwasher.
Shop Target’s new plastic Room Essentials dinnerware collection before the warmer weather officially hits. You’ll be able to bring all those outdoor party ideas to life thanks to these pieces knowing you can wine and dine without having to stress over shattered dishware.
