Foodie Meliz shared the hack in a TikTok video online.

The foodie said she had learnt the trick from a friend and has been using it ever since.

Mel said: "A couple of years ago I saw my friend shred red cabbage with a vegetable peeler. The rest is history."

She said: "Cut a big chunk, then slice along the cut edge first. I should have shown that bit but I thought it was boring."

In her video the foodie shared how easy it was to use a potato peeler.

And the hack will save you time washing up as Meliz isn't even using a chopping board she is peeling straight into a bowl.
